Tracy Ostmann Haschke
Lost And Found
Chicago, Illinois
Tracy is a native of rural Missouri and attributes her development as an artist to being raised in a family of craftsmen. She made her first oil painting at the age of 17 using her grandmother's oil paints. She holds a BFA from Webster University in St Louis, Missouri and Post Baccalaureate certificate from the Art Institute of Chicago. Her most recent body of work coincides with her experiences as a new mother. Tracy views her work as a a sort of diary in that it tends to parallel events in her personal life.
"I remember my first found object sculpture very clearly...the assignment was given in an Introduction to Design class over 10 years ago. Even still today foundation courses influence young people not only to see art in a not so traditional form but it also teaches that art can be found in garbage..."Tracy Ostmann Haschke
