"My work often focuses on locality and the way geography can impact the fundamental existence of an individual or a group of individuals. As a product of the post-industrial landscape, I was attracted to the idea of working with hubcaps. I perceive the medium as a remnant of lost culture, or part of a cultural phenomenon that no longer exists. I am especially drawn to the concept of transformation, and the way it is possible to apply a new identity to an object which has lost its original function."Alexandra Roth
