Barrie Szekely

Barrie was born in 1954 in Regina, Saskatchewan, and resides in Victoria since 1982. From 1978 to 1980. Barrie participated in the “Studio Art Winter Workshop” at the Banff Centre. In 1981 Barrie received a BFA in painting and drawing from the University of Regina followed by a MFA in 1984 from the University of Victoria. Barrie’s work can be found in such collections as The Canada Council art Bank, Prudential Insurance, New Orleans Museum of Art and the Can West. Barrie taught at the University of Victoria, University of Saskatchewan and Mount Allision University and is currently teaching at the Vancouver Island School of Art.
