Michael Kutzer

Michael was born in 1941 in Leipzig Germany, the son of animal painter Heinrich Utzer. He grew up on the Baltic Sea and studied art and art history in Stuttgart, Germany. Michael lived in Stuttgart for forty years where he was an art teacher . His work has been exhibited in Germany, Denmark, and the U.S.A. Michael has lived in Wisconsin since 2005 where he is a permanent resident and works as a free painter.
“Recycling is an important challenge in our days. Using this idea for an international project utilizing artists around the word was very convincing to me. Hubcaps were ideal as I work since four years exclusively on circular formats inspired by painted targets used in the 17th and 18th century.”Michael Kutzer
