Ruth Bauer Neustadter
Captured; Junk on a Hubcap
Hackensack, New Jersey
Ruth began her life as a modern dancer and performed professionally for many years. Throughout she worked in the visual arts, and developed a way of weaving using found wood, bone and rust to create sculptural weavings. She has painted for about twenty years, studying with many artists in the New York area. Her body of work consists of figurative portraits, and mixed media paintings. Ruth has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the tri-state area.
“This project was made for people, artists like me. I spend a good deal of time picking up pieces of ‘junk’ which otherwise would go into a landfill. I feel as though I am saving objects for a new life…life in my paintings.”Ruth Bauer Neustadter
