This Once Was Eden
St. Petersburg, Florida
Eunice is a self taught artist. Her illustrations have appeared in Rockford Magazine, The Rockford Review, and various United Methodist curriculum materials. She has published three books: Little Things, Responses, and Christian AND Lesbian: A Life in Progress and various United Methodist curriculum materials. Eunice’s work has been displayed at the Winnebago County (Illinois) Fair, the Wisconsin State Fair, one-person shows at the North Suburban Library District (Rockford, Illinois), Miles Memorial Hospital (Damariscotta, Maine), and Jones Intercable (Tampa, Florida). Shortly after moving to the Tampa Bay area, she felt privileged to be one of the artists who helped create the murals of manatees and other sea life for the Children's Advocacy Center of the Child Abuse Council. Eunice has drawn animals since she was a child. In 1990, she began drawing pet portraits and commission work. Her greatest pleasure is in seeing the delight of a client when receiving a drawing he or she has ordered.
“I am appalled by the degree to which humans are using the earth and its resources without regard to future generations and am delighted when a new idea is presented for reminding us that there are other ways to be better stewards of this miraculous planet. I titled my work "This Once Was Eden as a reminder of what Earth once was, and an encouragement to nurture her back to health as well as to restore and preserve her beauty for our descendants.”Eunice Fisher
