Karen received a BA from U.C.L.A. and MA in art history from California State University Northridge. Her work has been exhibited throughout California, in Washington State and Germany. In 1991, Karen received a Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Grant. In 1976, she was one of 30 Americans nominated for the Paris Bienniele. Her work consists of drawings, constructions and installations, which usually follow natural or landscape forms and often involve an element of sound. Karen continues to work both individually and collaboratively. For 20 years she taught art and art history to visual impaired adults at the Los Angeles Braille Institute.
