Helen Lee Meyers
First Love
Flemington, New Jersey
Helen works in oils both plein air and in the studio and continues to refine her style and technique with every new painting. She is known for her dramatic portraits and expressive, often nostalgic landscapes and florals which reflect a lifelong desire to capture a moment and allow it to evolve, using light, shape and color, into a piece of visual beauty. She studied at the University of Maryland, Parsons School of Design and the New School in New York. She spent many years in the field of graphic design and illustration before turning primarily to oils. Helen is a member of the New Hope Art League, Artsbridge, Portrait Society of America, Philadelphia Tri State Artists Equity Ass. and the River Rats Plein Air Group. Her work is in numerous collections along the East Coast and she has had various showings in New York, Baltimore, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida.
“Art sustains faith in humankind and each of us has to fight for what we hold dear. I believe this project exemplifies those ideas. What we all do now does not end with us-it echoes into the future for good or ill.”Helen Lee Meyers
