“I love the idea of recycling – where one thing becomes another entity – reused, reinvented. I am presently working with recycled books, turning discarded books into artworks. As the written word in book form is being transformed by technology and today’s use of the internet, it is all the more important for artist, using visual means, to increase awareness of environmental concerns and to get people thinking about recycling and reusing. My hubcap, which features paper shreds, slivers, and other recycled materials, combines the hardness and permanence of metal with the more fugitive qualities of paper.”Irmari Nacht
