Bernis grew up in Boston, Massachusets and was a computer scientist. She could not deny her true love of textile arts. After having her first child Bernis started her own sewing business specializing in quilt purses and wedding dresses to name a few. Currently she has a part time job and only sewing what she loves.
"I know Ken through work and one day he told me about his project. After seeing the works he already had I knew I wanted to do a huge fabric flower based on a poppy.
