Cheryl is primarily self taught and she likes to explore many mediums and techniques, especially the non-traditional. She is an artist, teacher and friend of the earth. Her work has been featured in several metro- Detroit galleries.
"From the moment I heard about the project and that our ‘canvas’ would be a reclaimed hubcap, I wanted to create a piece about my hometown, Detroit, the Motor City. The place that made hubcaps possible! As a ‘friend of the earth’ I was intrigued about creating a piece of artwork using only reclaimed materials. I like collaborative projects where proceeds benefit a common good."Cheryl Alt
