Dar specializes in portraiture while delving into a variety of other visual subject matter. Her artwork has evolved considerably over the years. She works in oil, pastel and mixed media. Dar attended the Daniel Greene Portrait workshop, New York 2005. The Blovitz portrait workshops in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and Montgomery, Alabama. She also attended the Central College of Pella, Iowa.
“I love the idea of recycling and making beauty out of other’s trash or leftovers . My design is built on trash tissue paper and donated puzzle pieces. I love camping and gazing at the moon, plus I’ve never painted a hubcap before. It was fun! Oh, and it glows in the dark.”Darlys Vande Voort
