Dorothy is a self-taught artist. She is a member of several local and national artist associations including the Coast Guard Fine Art Program. Her art has been exhibited throughout the country, Vlissingen, and the Netherlands. Dorothy has a piece in the permanent collection of the West Virginia Division of Culture and History Museum.
“I am very concerned about the ecology and the environment. As a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, we teach both children and adults about marine environmental protections, but this is my first opportunity to participate in an environmental awareness program as an artist.”Dorothy Joan Riley
