Elaine’s life work has been as a musician, composer, educator, and writer with an emphasis on contemporary concert music. She was born in 1932 in Bronx, NY and is married with 3 sons and 5 grandchildren. Elaine received a BA in music from Queens College, an MFA in musical composition and a PHD in composition and theory from Brandeis University.
