Homage to the Dodge
McFarland, Wisconsin
In 1972, Gary graduated with an Art Education degree from the University of Wisconsin, and found a job teaching art in McFarland, Wisconsin for 38 wonderful years. Gary was in his element, it was a great fit since he loved art and working with kids. He retired a few years ago and now is able to spend more time with family, traveling, riding his motorcycle and making more art when he has a chance.
“Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.” Louise Nevelson “ I think Louise would love this project. The sculptures she created with discarded pieces of wood found new life in museums around the world. My piece is an ‘homage’ to her and the Dodge division of Chrysler. My youth was filled with memories of our family’s 1957 Dodge station wagon. So as luck would have it, I was handed this Dodge hubcap. Hopefully, it will find a new artistic life with the other pieces in the Project.”Gary L. Schneider
