James was born in San Francisco, California, in 1954. He decided to become an artist while in the military. After the military he went back to California and started his education at SFO State, then attended the Academy Of Art, SFO. James artwork is in private and public collections in the United States and Europe and has shown in Santa Fe at the Center for Contemporary Art, Gallery Zipp, Phil Space Gallery, at Decorazon Gallery in Dallas, and the Affordable Art Fair in NY, MiamiArt Fair Basel, and RedDot Art Fair in London.
