Joan Kopchik

Joan has been creating mixed media works of art using handmade paper as her primary media for the past 25 years. She was a calligrapher, bookbinder and has won numerous awards based on her strong background in drawing. Joan holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University. Her work is represented: in the Rosenwald Collection, National Gallery of Art, The James A. Michener Museum, and in over a dozen private and corporate collections. Joan’s work was featured on HGTV in 2001 and published in The Artfull House, Toni Sikes, Lark Books, pub, 2007.
"I am interested in Landfillart because it lends itself to the kind of art that I am already engaged in. I work sculpturally and use a lot of recycled and found items as elements in my constructions. I like the concept of using abandoned hubcaps as an artist canvas."Joan Kopchik
