Laura is born raised and educated in New York City. Her work has been exhibited in throughout New York City, Connecticut, Virginia, Nebraska and Texas. Laura received a first place award for best mixed media at Tompkins Square Gallery and the Shaw Award for excellence in Fine Arts at Brooklyn College. Her work can be found at the Museum of West Virginia, Tompkins Square Gallery, Queens Museum of Art and Mercer Gallery among others.
My work has always mimicked worn-out, disregarded, tired and used surfaces. How could I pass an opportunity to do what I already do, but on a metal surface that inhabits a conscious motive that only adds to the preexisting conscious expression.Laura Joy Lustig
