Maggi was born in New Jersey, but lived and studied in Maine. She graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Art, Boston and Tufts University in 1982. Her graduate year was spent at SMFA in 1983. Maggi was awarded a traveling scholarship and has shown her work at the Barbara Krakow Gallery in Boston since 1984 in addition to the many solo and group exhibits throughout the US.
