Marylou is a fulltime professional portrait artist with her own gallery. She studied at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has degrees in painting and art history. She has commissioned over 250 portraits and received grants to paint people in the community for her Portraits from Life Project. Marylou has shown her work extensively throughout Pennsylvania.
"While holding the old Chevy hubcap, I felt I was holding a piece of history. I painted a reflected moment of it’s environment. I used an old black and white photo of my Aunt Audrey standing in front of her home and used images of a diner and Chevy to paint the background."Marylou Chibirka
