Michele is an artist who has spent the past 20 years studying art; focusing on subjects such as: design, art history, printmaking, photography, clay tile-making and assemblage. She grew up in Pennsylvania, and has lived in New York, Massachusetts, California and presently Illinois where she has had art exhibits throughout the state.
On so many levels this project appeals to me: I’m the daughter of an automobile dealer from Pennsylvania. As an artist, an important component of my creative process is researching the inspiration for the piece and designating a ‘cause’ that will benefit from the proceeds of each piece. All proceeds from the sales of my work (minus gallery commission) have been donated to a specified charity. Beyond the personal appeal of the automobile subject matter and the geographical manifestation, [Landfillart] project falls in line with my goals as an artist to educate, create and give back.
