Truth And Consequence

Los Angeles, California

Sean’s second life began late in 2001, after attending his first Burning Man art festival. Inspired by the boundless creativity he experienced that week, he returned to LA and began working on his first sculptural creation. His exploration of the alien worlds or plant, insect and ocean life have been the predominant focus of his work to date. Through a combination of steel wire, imported fabrics and various types of illumination, he uses delicate curves, rich textures and warm colors to infuse his pieces with a gentle dreamlike surrealism. His work has been seen at Burning Man and other large scale art and music festivals, in more traditional art venues, and in the pages of the Los Angeles Times.

“I love incorporating new and interesting materials into my wire sculptures. That, along with the Landfillart Project’s mission, seemed like a perfect coupling for something fun and exciting that also makes the world a little more beautiful”Sean Sobczak
