Born in 1953, Sonam spent the first six years of her life living in the Tibetan Alps. Due to Chinese occupation of Tibet her family fled to a refugee camp in India under harsh living conditions. She first attended school at the age of 13, learning English Studies. Sonam now lives in New York and Switzerland with her husband and children. Sonam studied art in Bern, Switzerland and has exhibited her abstract paintings in NY and Switzerland.
