Susan Hammond

Susan was born in Woodside, Queens, New York in 1947, her youth was involved with school, art and family. In 1971, she married and moved to New Jersey. Susan earned her Associates Degree in Graphic Design in 1997, from Sussex County Community College, Newton, New Jersey. In 2000 she earned a BFA Degree from William Paterson University, Wayne, New Jersey, and in 2005, Susan achieved her MFA Degree. Susan’s been an artist all of her life but her focus in photography began 23 years ago in 1990, and it has grown to a passionate obsession.
“I chose to be involved in this project because the theme ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ is a modern version of the three ‘R’s”. Like most artists, I have too much STUFF. When I received my hubcap, it was a spiritual moment, as I presently own a Chrysler 300, and each time I drive to work in New York City I pass the beautiful Chrysler Building. I chose to create a hubcap showing antique Chrysler’s as well as the historic Chrysler Building. It is important for me to reduce my STUFF, Reuse my STUFF and Recycle my STUFF. “Susan Hammond
