Victoria has a classical fine arts education. She studied painting at U.C. Davis and attended Milwaukee Institute of Design with a focus on drawing. She later went to San Francisco, California to study animation for film. Although her first language is painting she loves digital arts as well, and considers it just another tool to make art.
“This project has opened up a whole new world for me. I like the idea of recycled art, but hadn’t dipped a toe in until the Landfillart Project came along. Aside from efforts to promote recycling, working through the compositional issues of working on a round plane with ridges of slopping medal was very rewarding. I am now looking forward to doing more work of this kind.”Victoria Smith
