Deirdre is a Chicago artist who puts physical details to abstract use to create sculptural visual poems. Her work has been featured in New American Painters 2012 and numerous exhibitions throughout the Greater Chicago area. She has been awarded grants and residences, including the Ragdale Foundation, Lake Forest, Illinois.


“I wanted to be involved because my artwork involves reclaiming disposable containers before the containers end up in a landfill or the ocean. I combined my collected plastic waste with the hubcap to produce one of my Harlequin characters, each of which expresses a particular emotion; here blocked stomach, the emotion is one of being overwhelmed.”Deirdre Fox
