Janice is a native of West Virginia and has a bachelor of Arts from West Virginia State University. She is an independent artist who works from home. In addition Janice is a substitute teacher who also works part time on construction jobs. Janice is married and has grown children.
“I feel a responsibility to direct my work toward environmental concerns as a form of recycling. I use many post construction materials in the creation of my work. I hope my art will cause the viewer to think about how our behaviors effect our natural world and thru my work I hope to induce a desire for behavior modification.”Janice Summers-Young
