Tara Zavada

Closed Curtain

Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania

As a photographer, Tara is concerned mainly with the juxtaposition of beauty and decay. Her work often showcases the human form, but in settings such as abandoned buildings and old industrial sites. Her work has been influenced by war photographer James Natchtwey and her teacher and fellow photographer Jim Gavenus. Also influential to Tara’s work was her father, who upon passing away, left Tara his camera and love for imagery.

“I was honored to be asked to be part of this project. The question is why wouldn’t I participate.”Tara Zavada
